There is a young local baker on the island who set up his own bakery in Courtenay recently. He is keen to try new things and expand his menu. I suggested custard squares!
He is keen to oblige. If there are enough kiwis who miss such baked culinary from NZ and are interested in placing an order then our baker can transport the goods down the following Monday.
Personally I have asked him to bring me a 12”x 12” custard square each week. This is only for a limited time for the next few months.
So I thought it worth sharing with fellow kiwis as there are probably foodies like me who miss some bakery specialty things that we just cannot find here.
Is it possible to circulate this message and people can reply direct to me with orders and they can collect goods from me at Jubilee hospital or from my house in the evenings.
