Things I love about Victoria

So I had one of those moments the other day - while wandering down government street with my family admiring the hanging baskets - where I felt very lucky to live in this beautiful city of ours. There is just something special about this city that feels like a small town. Watching the harbour ferries tootle about under the grand visages of the Empress Hotel and the Legislature while the tourists clop-clop past in their horse drawn carriages I always get the feeling I'm very fortunate to live here. Every now and then I'll overhear a tourist say "wouldn't it be wonderful to live here" and I think to myself, Yes... Yes it is.

So I'd like to hear from you, ladies and gents. What do you love about Victoria?
Is it the friendly people? The long summer days? The snow on the trees in the winter? The nature and wildlife? The festivals? The pubs, clubs, and restaurants? The mountains? The shopping?

Leave a comment and let us know what you love about Victoria.

Yeah, I'd agree with the all of the above. I'd also say that this city is the closest place that I've been to in the world that's like 'Otautahi' ( ChCh ), where I was born & bred. It seems to have a similar history to Chch in that the settlers tried to re-create some place in England. I've even noticed the same invasive species of plants that we struggle with in Chch : scotch broom, Ivy, etc.... Haven't seen any 'Gorse', yet. Yeah, it's not hard to be 'at home' here, because it's like home for me.
